!moray, salineras, y ir de compras!

hola todos! Today we saw and walked into an Incan ruin in Moray that was possibly used for terraced agriculture or ceremonies. It resembled an amphitheater and we all sat in the center of it and did some meditation and yoga posses in order to appreciate the energy the place is known for. Next we drove through small mountainous villages on very windy and bumpy roads until we reached a picturesque church were we ate our packed lunches. Next we walked for two and a half hours through an amazingly scenic valley covered with agave plants, corn fields, lots of donkey poop and towered over by glacier topped peaks. We all got substantial sunburns by the time we reached salineras, an ancient incan salt mine where locals still harvest salt to sell to Lima and sell artisan crafts to tourists like us. The hundreds of pools of salt in the scenic valley were unlike anything we've seen! To finish up the day we road motorcycle powered rickshaws into the town center of Urubamba for coffee, dessert, and further bonding :) We are all extremely excited to move on to Pisac tomorrow to stay and to start our project tomorrow in building compostable toilets!
